St Vincent's Health Australia is the leading Catholic not-for-profit diversified healthcare network in Australia. SVHA has evolved over 180 years in Australia, shaped by the strong core values of the Sisters of Charity.
Employing approximately 13,000 staff and assisted by 1300 volunteers, the network spans New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. They operate 4 public hospitals, 7 private hospitals and 10 aged care facilities and provide acute and sub-acute healthcare, a full range aged care services, diagnostic, pathology and radiology services, public and private rehabilitation as well as having an extensive allied health services community, mental & correctional health services and provide public and private emergency health services.
The Role
The CEO role reports to the National Board of SVHA Ltd through the Chair of the Board.
The role of the CEO is to lead and promote SVHA operations nationally through effective co-operation, integration (where appropriate) and alignment of strategies with Regional Boards and services.
The CEO will take a leadership role in developing and influencing national health and aged care policies in both the public and private healthcare sectors.
Key Working Relationships
The CEO will provide strong leadership and effective management of SVHA, with primary responsibility for the National Executive team and the National Office.
In conjunction with Chairs of Regional Boards, and following the approval of CL&C, will induct Regional Chief Executives.
Together with Regional Boards, evaluate the performance of Regional Chief Executive Officers of SV&MHS, and SVHM, together with Partnership Boards to evaluate the performance of Chief Executive Officers of SV&HSH, and SV&MPH.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Develop SVHA National strategy and policy within the SVHA shared Governance framework.
- Actively promote and lead the development and implementation of Mission throughout SVHA.
- Be the primary channel of communication and point of contact between SVHA and key external stakeholders on matter of National concern.
- Must understand and promote the importance of developing long term suitable funding strategies.
