The Organisation
Our client is a unique, privately owned organisation in the Media, ISP/Telco, and Newspaper printing/publishing sectors. With multiple companies operating under a holding company, this highly successful group is seeking an outstanding CFO to join the organisation. The CFO role is crucial in strengthening systems, financial performance and governance, across each of the operating businesses and in meeting the group's strategic goals.
The Role
The Chief Financial Officer has overall responsibility for accounting, finance and corporate governance across the Group. The role also requires leadership and day to day management of the following responsibilities:
- Accounting, treasury, property services, risk and legal - to ensure achievement of the corporate business plan
- Company Secretary and Public Officer duties
- Financial matters relating to company acquisitions and corporate re-organisation
- Development and implementation of commercial opportunities
- Ongoing contribution to the strategic development of the company.
Key Working Relationships
The CFO reports directly to the CEO and will play a key role in the executive leadership team and contribute to the strategic development of the group. The candidate must also be capable of dealing with a range of people including the Board and senior management as well as external auditors, advisors and other key stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience operating at Chief Financial Officer level within a medium sized company or senior Financial Controller within an autonomous division is ideal.
- Outstanding executive leadership capabilities
- Experience in media or interactive service organisations would be an advantage
- Strong financial and performance management skills
- Excellent collaborative, communication, and team leadership skills
- Degree qualifications and CPA/CA membership essential
