The Organisation

Our client is the largest regional health service in Victoria. They offer an extensive range of general and specialist hospital, rehabilitation, residential and community services. The organisation has over 1000 beds, a budget of $400 million, a workforce of over 5000 and strong links with Deakin University's medical school.

The Role

The CEO is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the community within the catchment area is provided with high quality, accessible health care services that are responsive to community needs, and that the organization fulfils it's strategic goals set out in the 2004 - 2010 Strategic Plan. Obviously a major remit of the new CEO will be to work closely with the Board to develop the next strategic plan and ensure the network's reputation for excellent remains in tact. The CEO must provide outstanding management of a diverse and complex health network across a diverse and large geographical region.

The Chief Executive Officer will work in conjunction with the Board and key management team

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Provide outstanding strategic leadership and direction to Barwon Health
• Deliver astute commercial understanding and guidance, and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver on priorities
• Provide exemplary management of financial, clinical and non-clinical issues
• Develop and integrate community, government and private support for the organisation
• Demonstrated record of achievement in delivering a high quality health service
• Outstanding leadership including the ability to manage growth and change
• Strong interpersonal skills and intellect and a team orientation
• Highest level strategic and change management skills to perform in a complex and changing environment.
• Record of responsiveness to policy direction and community needs
