The Organisation
Our client is an Australian leader in the field of physical services. Their highly effective Board are responsible for setting the strategic direction, monitoring and approving development of the organisation. The executive leadership team of six (including the MD/CEO and CFO) has a significant impact on the performance of the company, and in delivering the business strategy. After a decade of record revenue growth, the Board have recognised the need to appoint an additional director to add a greater depth of skills and future continuity.
The Role
The Board are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual with a background in senior leadership roles with a strong commercial base. Experience in contracting and complex service agreements would be beneficial as would skills in business development, tendering, project management and mergers & acquisitions.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:
- A strong track record as a Director
- Experienced at a CEO, senior executive, or professional level leadership
- Demonstrated knowledge of Board governance requirements and their implementation
- Exposure to acquisitions and business mergers, not only at the due diligence and financial structuring end, but also at the implementation and integration phases
- Relevant professional and /or management qualifications
In terms of the ideal candidate, it is expected that he/she will possess some/all of the following attributes:
- Capacity to consider the operational consequences of decisions and have sound commercial acumen and judgement
- Appropriate interpersonal characteristics for operating in a board environment
- Ability to think strategically, commercially and holistically
- Financial, management and investment decisioning skills desirable
