The Organisation

Our client is an Australian State Government Health Department and as such, is responsible for the effective provision and delivery of health services to all residents and visitors. The Department employs over 5500 staff and has a budget (operating revenue) of $1billion with an operating surplus of $16.8m.

The Role

The CEO must provide strong strategic leadership to ensure the continual delivery and reform of health services that meet the health and family service needs of residents and visitors to the region. Major components of the role involve budget and resource management of the Department and relationship establishment and management with key stakeholders, especially Government, at a local, national and international level. Additionally, the CEO will be responsible for advising Government on significant population health issues in the area and improvement approaches and determining performance measures / outcomes for effective health service delivery.

Key Working Relationships

Ministers of Health and other Government health department leadership figures, fellow State Government Health Department CEO’s and key management team.
