OPPEUS is a well established boutique Strategic Human Capital consulting firm which prides itself on the ability to provide a comprehensive integrated solution rather than clients having to deal with separate firms in each of the fields of executive search (Talent), organisation transition (Organisation), board reviews (Governance) and remuneration advice (Remuneration) = TOGR.
1.2 The Position
The opportunity for an experienced, vibrant, energetic Researcher has arisen in our Melbourne office. You will be working with high profile companies to create opportunities for their success.
The Researcher will work closely with consultants and is flexible in the work that he/she undertakes. This position requires an energetic, team-oriented individual with a highly disciplined and professional approach. However, the main responsibilities can be outlined as follows:
1.3 Key Responsibilities
- Research – providing a research service to the consultants including general background research on clients and industries; sourcing, identifying and pre-screening candidates; identifying opportunities and target clients for business development; generating research on industry/sector topics to which OPPEUS can offer their services.
- Taking primary responsibility for the organisation and availability of good background information, including databases, assignment files and directories, knowledge management systems.
- May include some client contact as backup to the consultant i.e. attending client briefings and debriefing meetings where relevant, taking client calls in the absence of the consultant.
- Assist in the effective presentation of proposals to clients i.e., prepare client background research, assist with developing a business case for why OPPEUS should execute the Search assignment.
- To diligently and professionally assist in the execution of assignments to the highest standards e.g., preparing client fact sheets, lists of competitors for particular jobs, preparing status reports of candidate progression, developing job and website specifications and advertisements.
- Take a proactive approach to information gathering across all media for the purposes of improving OPPEUS' knowledge base.
- To provide regular updates on performance and targets to the Consultants and Directors i.e., industry reports.
1.4 Experience
- Ideally, experience in executive search consulting, human resources, management consulting or related field; alternatively, experience in professional advisory firms, human capital development or governance would be valuable.
1.5 Skills and Attributes
- Willingness to be proactive and play a lead role in managing multiple project tasks
- Manage varying workflow priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Skills and abilities in utilising all media resources
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills to network with clients, candidates, consultants and fellow staff members in a friendly, enthusiastic, cooperative manner
- Strong learning orientation and desire to understand Australian business and key leadership performance areas in management consulting
- Very professional phone manner and personal presentation
- Exceptional English oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and progress your career
1.7 Academic
Preferably tertiary qualifications in commerce, business HR or other related disciplines.
1.8 Key Measurable Objectives
