Whilst the key pillar of the business is insurance which accounts for 85% of the groups revenue, there are 5 other arms which have been part of a strategic plan to grow the business, providing services to allied health sectors and related health services. Given the strategic growth plans for the business,our client will be targeting new business opportunities and channels to diversify their client group, outside of the current sector. In this fashion the appointment of the Head of Claims is a critical strategic role for the business. Reporting to the General Manager of Insurance, David Brown, the National Claims Manager will provide direction to the
team across Australia and manage the claims management business objectives to achieve best practice, whilst meeting the operational and commercial objectives of the business.

Reporting to the General Manager of Insurance, the Head of Claims will provide direction to the team across Australia
and manage the claims management business objectives to achieve best practice, whilst meeting the operational and commercial objectives of the business.
The ideal candidate will provide planning & leadership in tandem with the General Manager Insurance to establish the overall strategic plan and build a best practice claims department. They will be responsible for mentoring and coaching the work and performance of the Senior Executives and staff as well as ensuring top quartile performance and bench strength of the team.
They will be a member of the leadership team and as such will participate in committees, internal and external, as required.
The Head of Claims will have overall responsibility for operational excellence of the division and delivery of reports/submissions in relation to the political, regulatory and customer and or legal environment regarding claims. They have oversight for ensuring all guidelines are followed and to continuously review the operational and implement changes to improve quality and productivity of claims systems and processes.
The Head of Claims must ensure compliance with regulatory regimes is maintained and adhere to the ‘no surprises’ rule is by alerting the GM Insurance and CEO immediately of any significant or potential risks or breaches to regulatory requirements or business standards and take remedial action..

The role of Senior Security Manager is based in Melbourne, Australia. Extensive domestic and
international travel will be required up to approximately one third of the year.
