Dr Marcele De Sanctis, Principal Consultant, and Terry Coyne, Head of Leadership Assessment, hosted their Autumn Boardroom Lunch on Friday 30 May 2014. This was the third in a series of seasonal events hosted by Oppeus International focusing on thought leadership and emerging trends in talent and leadership assessment, development, and management. This event followed our highly successful Summer Boardroom Lunch held in February 2014 in which Terry led a stimulating and engaging discussion on the ‘Mind of a Leader’ drawing heavily on Terry’s  past 10 years working with the Geelong Football Club on their organisational and leadership transformation.

In the Autumn session, Dr. Marcus Bowles, Chair of the Institute for Working Futures Pty Ltd, appealed to the audience with his stimulating discussion on Leadership in the Digital Economy. Marcus‘s presentation centred on the massive technology changes organisations are faced with today, and the impacts experienced when business models are not altered to reflect these changes. Marcus then explored the effects of leadership on the transformation of organisations into the digital space, and how the deep strategic and emotional drivers of leadership capabilities can drive cultural change.

Our group of guests comprising Managing Directors, People and Culture and Organisational Development Executives participated in a lively discussion of realistic examples of ‘Leaders in the Digital Age’ and the extent to which leadership capabilities should promote and shape a development pipeline.
