A Summit for Registrars and Enrolment Officers in Schools was organised by Tony Conabere and Geraldine Wilson of Janus Consulting for 25/26 October, 2007. The event attracted over 120 Registrar’s from around Australia with the aim of recognising the role of the Registrar and their increasingly complex roles and responsibilities. Best practice and generating a greater understanding of importance and complexity of the role were key themes of this very well-received event.
OPPEUS Senior Consultant, Pauline Duncan, was invited to give the first address of the summit which set the scene for the event. Pauline spoke about “The Registrar; Telling your schools story” which focused on how Registrar’s are capturing and telling their schools’ story, what communication channels and tools are being deployed to engage with all stakeholders, and ensuring that every school is developing a strategic approach to create a powerful ‘brand’ where the schools story is memorable, personable, simple, powerful and emotional with the challenge of ensuring that this is told consistently throughout the organization and demonstrated in practice.
