“The Future Fund – Progress in building a long term business”
On Wednesday, 23rd April, OPPEUS sponsored the first in a series of luncheons with key speaker, Mr Paul Costello, General Manager of The Future Fund.
The CEDA lunches are formal conferences, aimed at spotlighting important speakers. The leadership series focuses on ‘developing emerging leaders and sharing leadership best practice’. The lunch was attended by more than 80 guests.
During his presentation to guests, Mr Costello spoke about the opportunities that have come to them outside of listed equities. The fund also recognised that much opportunity was related to debt strategies and Future Fund have built capability around that. “We have found that the terms upon which we are able to participate in those opportunities have improved materially in a relatively short period of time.”
The luncheon series was attended by a number of key OPPEUS staff, including Managing Director, Nicholas Varigos and Executive Chairman, Peter Kronborg. Both commented that the event not only ran well, but provided an excellent backdrop for networking opportunities for all those involved.
