On Friday September 12, OPPEUS, in conjunction with the American Chamber of Commerce, hosted a Business Briefing for 150 guests with guest speaker Mr Paul O'Malley.
Paul O'Malley was appointed Managing Director and CEO of BlueScope Steel on 1 November 2007.
He is attributed with driving BlueScope's Blueprint for the future – a renewed strategy to grow the value of the Company's steel solutions business across its geographic footprint in Australia, Asia, North America and New Zealand.
Mr O'Malley joined BlueScope Steel as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in December 2005. He was formerly the CEO of TXU Energy, a subsidiary of TXU Corp based in Dallas, Texas, and, based in Melbourne, Chief Financial Officer of TXU Australia.
Many guests remarked on Mr O'Malley's talk, who proved an engaging and enjoyable speaker. His talk concerned the Government's Emissions Trading Scheme and the initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint of Australian Businesses.
