Strategic Planning Retreat, April 2008

April 4, 2008

The OPPEUS staff retreat began with a wild encounter at Melbourne Zoo, having the opportunity to watch one of the keepers training the tigers. It began a great day of discussion and made for memorable experience, and a favoured mascot.

The past year has had an emphasis on consolidation in preparation for what continues to be a tremendous growth period for OPPEUS.

Much discussion centered on Purpose and Values, not surprising given our relationship with benchmark in the field of Purpose, Mr Nikos Mourkogiannis.

OPPEUS prides itself on being client focused and with the addition of a few new members of staff, we we have a motivated, capable and committed team to focus on the clients and excellence in delivery of services.

We also completed a session on DiSC profiling, which we use in our everyday business. It assists in understanding people personalities. Where it really gains momentum is in understanding different communication and learning styles. We understand and accept these aspects of our work environment, which allows OPPEUS to fully explore and manipulate the strengths of our team, improving even further the service delivery and outcomes for all the people we deal with.

All this, and we even had an amazing opportunity to have a meet and greet with the Melbourne Zoo’s Asian Elephants.
