Media Release - Appointment of Alfred Health CEO
April 23, 2009
OPPEUS is pleased to have been involved in this key appointment and wishes Andrew all the best in his new role.
Appointment of Alfred Health Chief Executive
It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Mr Andrew Way as the Chief Executive of Alfred Health. Andrew will commence in July, but you may meet him when he is visiting again in early May
Andrew has had many years’ executive experience in public health and has been involved in most of the recent healthcare reforms and innovations in the United Kingdom.
For the past four years he has been Chief Executive of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust in London. The Royal Free Trust is a major NHS trust with over 1000 beds, has services across 6 sites; and is a significant education, research and teaching facility. The Royal Free Hospital and its associated hospital, The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, are key partners with University College London in providing and developing clinical academic services, research and teaching.
Previously Andrew has held CEO and Chief Operating Officer roles at other NHS Trusts.
Andrew’s achievements include a strong track record in all aspects of patient care, quality and safety, access and financial performance.
Having held leadership roles in some of the highest performing hospitals in the UK, Andrew believes he will benefit personally and professionally by working in another health system. He has great admiration for the Victorian system and for Alfred Health in particular and is looking forward to being a member of the team.
I am sure you will join with me in welcoming Andrew to Victoria and Alfred Health.
