Bill has an extensive background as a senior Human Resources generalist in both Australia & Asia. He started his career with Ford Australia on their graduate program & went on to work in a wide variety of senior Human Resources roles in the Australian business.
Bill spent the last eight years of his Ford career in Asia. Most recently Bill was responsible for both recruiting and learning development for Ford Motor Company across twelve counties in the Asia Pacific region, in this senior position he reported directly back to Ford headquarters in the US & worked out of Ford China's Shanghai office. During this time his major focus was on the business in China where Ford undertook major investments with its joint venture partners and established large manufacturing & R&D facilities in regional China.
Prior to this Bill was assigned by Ford for five years to work in Japan for the Mazda Motor Corporation. His time in Japan coincided with the need for a major turnaround in the Mazda business and he played a key role in a wide range of Human Resources initiatives which were one of the key pillars of the turnaround program. Specifically Bill played a pivotal role in initiatives which included - a major business restructuring and staff reduction program, introduction of a wide variety of global best practice and new to Japan HR initiatives, creation of an innovative leadership development programs for senior management and "across the business" change management programs for all employees. Also during this time Bill's role also saw him deeply involved with the Mazda businesses in both Europe & North America.
Before working in Asia Bill was Ford Australia's Human Resources Manager, Business Operations. He has also had roles in employee relations, health & safety and compensation & benefits. Bill has now returned to live in his hometown of Melbourne.
