Jasper Coghlan: Specialist Advisor

Jasper is an international specialist in remuneration strategies and programs. As former head of remuneration for Ford Motor Company in Asia Pacific, he is an acknowledged specialist in the development of best practice remuneration and benefit strategies in Australia and Asia Pacific. He also has specific skills in the design of worldwide short term incentive programs and has guided the restructure of superannuation plans in Australia.
More recently in Australia, Jasper has provided advice to a significant number of organisations in the public, private, government and not-for-profit sectors on director and executive remuneration and short term incentive plans.
As a trusted advisor to leaders, Jasper is well able to provide advice on executive and director remuneration including incentive plans that closely link executive and company performance. This includes independent advice to directors and CEOs on executive remuneration proposals.
Jasper is a committee member of the Performance & Rewards Special Interest Group of AHRI in Victoria.
In the past, Jasper has been a senior Human Resources executive with extensive experience in a range of key HR functions at both the corporate and operations levels. For over a decade he has been an acknowledged specialist in the development of remuneration and benefits strategies and programs in Australia and Asia Pacific. His work has been recognised in Ford, Mazda, Volvo and Jaguar in Asia Pacific and Europe.
In addition, Jasper is well experienced in the conduct of special studies that require analysis of complex data and diverse practices in challenging business environments. Examples include the review of the effectiveness of grade banding and job evaluation practices; the assessment of excessive growth in the number of higher graded executives in an organisation; a due diligence review of remuneration and other HR practices in a loss making target company; advice on post merger integration of remuneration practices of four diverse business structures and cultures; and the review of recruitment and retention management practices.
Also, Jasper has developed remuneration practices in start-up operations in India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam, and has provided advice to joint ventures in China and Thailand. He has also managed and enhanced remuneration programs in mature operations in Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, South Africa and Taiwan. For a period he provided advice on operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Venezuela as well as the United Arab Emirates.
