Nicholas Varigos
Managing Director
Nicholas is the founder and Managing Director of Oppeus International. He has practised in senior executive search, Board and leadership consulting since 1993 and possesses extensive experience across diverse sectors including mining & resources, engineering services, financial services, health, agribusiness, IT, manufacturing, education, Government and professional services sectors. Prior to co-founding Oppeus International, Nicholas was a leading consultant in the Melbourne office of Korn/Ferry International executive search. As part of the team that reopened their business in Melbourne, Nicholas held Asia Pacific Regional practice management responsibilities for the Mining/Resources and Industrial practices; was the Global Relationship Manager for a Strategic Key Account client; and, served as a member of Korn/Ferry’s Global Advanced Technology Practice for 7 years. Nicholas trained as a commercial lawyer and spent the early part of his career as Corporate Legal Counsel and Director for a diversified international group with interests in manufacturing, car parking, food, hospitality and commercial property development. Gaining extensive experience working across the America’s, Europe, North and South Asian regions, Nicholas was later appointed as Managing Director and Legal Counsel for a leading privately held diversified Hong Kong based corporation where he was engaged across Asia and Australasia in their operations. He also spent three years in corporate advisory consulting, with particular emphasis on emerging Asian markets. Nicholas was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne and holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD), a Governor of AmCham and a Trustee for the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA).
