Presentation to CSA – "Director & Executive Remuneration" by Executive Chairman, Mr Peter Kronborg & Mr Bill Patullo

In view of the current "War on Talent", the issue of Executive and Director Remuneration is a hot topic. How do boards manage corporate governance and how do they find a balance between 'remunerating to motivate' and 'paying for performance'?
OPPEUS, as Strategic Leadership Advisors, are well versed, trusted advisors in Remuneration strategies and practices. Recently Peter Kronborg, Executive Chairman and Bill Patullo, Specialist Advisor and Head of Remuneration Practice for OPPEUS, presented to Chartered Secretaries Australia's, Graduate Program on Director and Executive Remuneration.
The focus of the presentation and ensuing discussion was centralised around the following points:
- Considering reasons why remuneration is a Corporate Governance issue
- Analysing the role of Remuneration Committees
- Considering the rationale for disclosure of remuneration paid
- Considering the consequences of the disclosure of remuneration
- Examining the current disclosure requirements in Australia
- And understanding current models and effectiveness issues.
