Goulburn Valley Health (GV Health) is the regional public health service for the Goulburn Valley in the Hume Region of Victoria and for southern NSW with main hospital campuses located in Shepparton, Tatura and Rushworth.  GV Health supports management of other hospitals in the region.

GV Health has an annual turnover of more than $230 million and more than 2,200 employees.

An exciting development is the recent allocation of $168.5 million for redevelopment of the main hospital campus in Shepparton.

GV Health services a population of 107,000. 70% of the primary catchment lives in Greater Shepparton. It is a diverse Community with 11% of the population born in non-English speaking countries, which is twice the average of the rest of rural Victoria. The indigenous population is approximately 4% of the population.

The Role

Reporting to the Board, the CEO will represent the chamber in Australia and overseas, formulate policy ideas and serve the needs of members, including developing new offerings. The CEO will influence Australian public policy as it impacts on business.

 

The Candidate

Under the direction of the Board, the Chief Executive Officer leads GV Health in providing a best practice health service that is high quality, cost effective and responsive to Community needs and Government policy directions.

The Chief Executive Officer is the chief point of accountability for patient care and outcomes through effective executive leadership and management of GV Health.  The CEO is accountable to the Board of Directors for ensuring that GV Health achieves a balance between efficient service delivery and high quality health outcomes.

The CEO will promote GV Health as a quality regional health service provider. Living within the Community, the CEO is a leader for the Community in achieving better public health outcomes.
